Danville Community Band June 13

The Danville Community Band, under the direction of Robert Calonico and Lawrence Anderson, is presenting their 2009-10 season finale concert on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 3:00PM at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center, 10550 Albion Road, San Ramon, CA 94582. The 80-piece band, completing its ninth performing season, presents “Ghosts of the Theatre,” featuring music from Stage and Cinema. Selections will include the music of Guys and Dolls, March from ‘1941’, Cats, the motion picture Silverado, and more. Tickets for the performance are $10 general admission, seating is reserved. Golden Bough - Dec. 4th @ 8 PM

Pleasanton Civic Arts brings Golden Bough's "olde worlde" cheer and the warmth of holiday gatherings together in a musical setting.  The trio's family-friendly program combines seasonal Celtic songs and original compositions played on unique acoustic instruments.  This season, Golden Bough’s holiday concert celebrates the release of their newest CD, When Winter Comes, which will be available for purchase in the theater lobby.  Special guests, The McGrath Irish Dancers, will add to the evening's festivities. 

In keeping with Civic Arts’ community outreach effort, audience members are encouraged to bring donations of nonperishable food items to the theater to benefit The Haven Food Pantry.

San Ramon Symphonic Band Holiday Concert - Dec. 18

Enjoy the majesty of live concert music featuring holiday favorites such as Silent Night, Joy to the World and many others.  Join the 75 member San Ramon Symphonic Band for a delightful concert that will brighten your holiday season.

San Ramon Community Chorus Holiday Concert - Dec. 18

Bring the entire family to this delightful Holiday Concert featuring multicultural holiday music and dance.  The evening will culminate with a visit from Santa Claus.

The performance will begin at 7 pm at the San Ramon Community Center Fountain Room located at 12501 Alcosta Blvd. in San Ramon.  Admission is free.

Halloween Pops and Classics Concert - Oct. 30

The Halloween Pops and Classics Concert features the San Ramon Symphonic Band under the direction of Larry Colon.  This concert features a Halloween theme and also classical musical pieces.  Audiences will enjoy the music of Disney's Fantasia, Wicked the Musical and classic pieces from Johann Strauss, Hector Berlioz and many other composers.

Bill Harley - October 24th

City of Pleasanton Civic Arts will host two-time Grammy award-winning musician/storyteller Bill Harley on Saturday, October 24, 2009.  The special family-friendly evening performance in Civic Arts' SaturYAY! series will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Harley, who is a favorite among children, parents and teachers, will perform his insightful, serious and silly songs and stories as well as his newest release, "Wash Your Hands" (Lavate las manos). He wrote the song to remind children that washing their hands will help prevent the spread of the flu.  

Adults: $10, $14 and $18; Child: $6, $10, and $14.

Virsky Dance Company in San Ramon - September 20

Forty dancers in traditional Ukranian costumes will bring to life the cultures and traditions of Eastern Europe.  Experience the majesty of this artistic group and embrace the beauty of their native Ukraine, the wisdow of its people as well as the folk tradition of humor and optimism.  Each performance is a romantic, passionate and exciting show.

San Ramon Community Chorus - Sept. 11

Join the San Ramon Community Chorus and local dancers to remember and honor those who lost their lives on September 11th and those that are serving in our armed forces.  the conert will feature patriotic music that celebrates the United States of America.

The concert will be held on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7:00 pm at the Front Row Theater at the Doughtery Station Community Center at 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road.  The admission is free, seating is limited.

George Winston

     City of Pleasanton Civic Arts Presents will open its 2009-2010 season with a return engagement by popular pianist George Winston. 

His Winston's solo concert will feature selecftions from his melodic piano recordings, as well as R&B piano, stride piano, Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts pieces and more.  

    As has  become a Winston tradition a food drive will take place in conjunction with the concert and will benefit The Haven Food Pantry.

    In addition children whose parents are attending the concert are invited to particpate in "Kids Create a Night of Musical Fun" as part of Civic Arts' Parents' Date Night program. Call (925) 931-5340 for information and registration.
